Dodging the distractions – The Covid 19 situation has disrupted life for many people, and created such carnage and chaos in it’s wake, that many people are left devastated and devoid of hope, whilst others have been trying to justify the insanity by attempting to find the silver lining to an otherwise disasterous situation. For many people out there, this time has given people pause to re-evaluate their lives as they fell apart. In some instances, it has brought people closer together, whilst in other cases, it has torn people apart. People have been inspired to start new projects as many people used this time to engage in healthier lifestyle patterns and choices… whilst in others, it has caused the uptake of unhealthy patterns of behaviour, whilst bringing out the worst in people. Indeed, 2020 has been the year of the apocalypse, the unveiling, as many things inside of us were brought to the surface, leaving many of us totally exposed to the raw truth about the faulty construct of our society, and the raw innate nature of ourselves, that many were not aware of before.
One of the major areas that I have personally witnessed change is in the New Age / Awakening / Truther community, which I personally have transversed for over a decade in my own personal journey of truth discovery. But through the course of this year, I have come to the realisation that this is a community that celebrates the “self” above all else, and covers up its own narcissism with spiritual rhetoric. Many of the people in this community are in the habit of replacing the hard work of long-term intimacy, with temporary connections hug workshops. These are the sort of people who feel entitled to drop others and move on, or to not show up and be reliable by saying that they were “in the moment and following their bliss” as their justification for not having to take on much responsibility or accountability for their actions, which may negatively impact on others, as they are consumed by BLISSTRACTIONS, which is all the good stuff without any of the hard work, making it a lazy way for the self-absorbed narcissist who cares more about feeling good than doing good.
The great part about getting older and developing a wider world view, is that I became more empathetic and less self-absorbed. The more I evolved, the less I could tolerate the New Age / Awakening / Truther community. The more that I went inward to do the harder therapeutic work beyond ecstatic dance and three-day workshops, the less validation that I sought from others, the more I saw how we were all stroking each other’s wounds and, in a way, using each other to temporarily feel better. We were all conscious, woke, free, evolved, transcending, and special. Or so we thought. In these circles, there were always an overkill of goddesses, warriors, priestesses, shamans, channels, clairvoyants, wannabe Kings / Queens, and all manner of narcissistic self delusion… And yet, there was not enough humanity. I saw people who had many international connections, spiritual acquaintances, social media friends, etc, and yet a disproportionate number of them who would actually be there for them when the shit hits the fan… And once you begin to see this, there is no going back.
If there was ever a perfect opportunity to go inward and focus on your “self,” without distractions and excuses, this was the year to do so. Yet, many have done quite the opposite. Instead, they went down rabbit holes of Q-Anon, Nesara, Gesara, Kangaroo Courts, White Hats will save us, aliens will save us… all this in an attempt to make themselves feel better during these uncertain times. It is easier to believe in false prophets with messiah complexes, than it is to sit in the unknown chaos and accept that our society and the supporting system, is totally corrupt, and we have absolutely no control over it, and indeed, nobody is coming to save us! In fact, all these movements seem to do is cause distraction and division, whilst amounting to absolutely nothing at all in terms of change for the better.
What many do not realise is that there are solutions for all the problems in the world. We could change the world tomorrow if we could just get people to work together, which is a concept lost on the New Age / Awakening / Truther community, which is largely comprised of figureheads infected with narcissism and delusions of grandeur, the so-called Hopium Merchants. The real challenge is getting people to unite on our common ground, being the pursuit of a free, fair, peaceful, just, sustainable, non-toxic world. Ultimately, we all want the same things, so why can’t we get it together to bring about the change that is needed? To a large extent, I blame the New Age / Awakening / Truther community, which has largely been a massive distraction. In this day and age, the online cults are amongst the biggest hidden dangers of our present society, because they are a distraction.
A big part of one’s journey into awakening, is the first step away from the official narrative, and where they land in terms of what information one happens upon first. We have seen so many projects and cults come and go, such as the Cult of Debt Forgiveness / Free Money, all of which amount to nothing, but keep people participating in this distracting environment, feeding them little drops of Hopium to keep them cult addicted, cult distracted and cult controlled. I got to see those who speak of love, and those who are genuinely loving. I got to see who are the Disaster Capitalists, the people who up their media output during times of disaster in order to beg for donations to fund their lavish lifestyles, off the back of raw emotions of traumatised people. Those who follow my work will know that I personally participated in and created very little media in 2020, as I refused to be a Disaster Capitalist, rather we changed our media output to focus on solutions, rather than feeding the fear by talking about conspiracies.
The year 2020 exposed people for who they really are, and for that I am grateful. I got to see for myself, who was worthy of my time and attention, and who is just a complete waste of time and energy. After all, the most valuable thing you can give anybody, is your attention. The only thing more precious than our time, is how we spend it.
